What is it?
The NSW Government has released a Before and After School Care voucher scheme, similar to the ‘Dine and Discover’ vouchers, worth up to $500 to use for Outside School Hours Care services.
Who is eligible?
All NSW families that are enrolled into an OOSH service are eligible to apply. It’s not too late, you can enrol your child for free.
What do I do?
Families can apply and claim for the voucher from February 28, 2022 via the Service NSW app on a smartphone device, or by following the verification steps as outlined on the Service NSW website: https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/basc-voucher. This $500 voucher is applicable for each individual child.
What sessions does it include?
We are aware that, so far, this voucher is eligible for all session types for all eligible children. This includes Before and After School Care, early finishes, pupil free days and Holiday Program.
How many sessions can I get from it?
It is estimated that it will cover the gap fee of roughly 60 sessions.
Is my service a part of it?
All NSW Services are eligible as part of the scheme.
How do I redeem it?
Information on how to redeem the voucher will be communicated to you prior to the commencement date of February 28.
How long do I have to apply?
The cut off date to apply for a BASC voucher is September 30, 2022
How long do I have to redeem the voucher?
The vouchers need to be redeemed by 31 December 2022 however at this stage we understand that they can be used until June 30, 2023.
We are a separated parent household – can we both apply?
No, this scheme is eligible per child, so the first parent to apply will have access to the voucher for each eligible child.
