Open since 2008, we care for children from Kemp Bridge and Yatama campuses. Operating centrally at the Seaforth community centre, we are approximately 500m from school grounds. Before and after school, we accompany the children to the centre.
We offer a fun and inclusive program that encourages multi-age interaction. Science Club offers simple, hands-on experiments investigating a range of subjects. Kindy Club includes games and activities that encourage older children to mentor younger ones. Every day, our craft program produces wonderful and imaginative artworks.
Outdoors there is a lovely shaded sand pit and play area, great for summer games. A qualified sports coach attends the centre every week offering an outdoor multi-sport session. The centre is adjacent to a hall which is used daily for sporting activities.
Children are regularly involved in community fundraising efforts like Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and Daffodil Day.
We stay in touch with the school community through fortnightly articles in the School Newsletter. We attend quarterly meetings with the School Principal and P&C. Parents and community members are always welcome to come and share their experiences, interests and special skills with the children.
Each term we conduct a meeting where parents and community members are invited to share their thoughts on our centre and programs.
Seaforth OSHC Centre completed a Validation visit in May 2010 receiving 100% and High Quality in all areas of the service. Our next self study is due to be completed in September 2012.
